Presents are set to be dished out all over Lancashire after two local institutions joined forces to commemorate their silver anniversaries in 2010.
St Catherine’s Hospice in Lostock Hall opened in 1985 – the same year that business gifts specialists, Ad-Options Ltd were formed in Warrington, before a move to Leyland two years later. To mark the occasion, the latter has presented the former with 1,000 branded Ad Loop keyrings that can be given out as incentives to potential donors who can support the charity’s excellent work in the community.
Maureen Nickson, head of trading at St Catherine’s Hospice, received the gifts from Steve Ward, managing director of Ad-Options Ltd, in a presentation at the Lostock Hall facility, and will be presenting the striking fluorescent loops to supporters of many of the Hospice’s forthcoming events during their anniversary year.
The timing of the presentation was significant, with 29th April marking the precise anniversary of the first care activity that took place within the home in 1985.

Giving away something as extravagant as a 19” Alba HDTV and DVD player in our recent competition was a first for us, and we’re pleased to say that we helped our winner achieve a first too, as he told us in an amazed tone: “I've never won anything in my life before!”.

The BusinessGiftUK.com team sprung a surprise by re-claiming the Central Lancashire Business Club Bowling Night crown for 2010 after a night of technical glitches at tenpin in Preston.
The 2005 and 2006 champions secured their third title after some high scoring from Nicola Derbyshire, Steve Ward and Mark Hutchinson - the latter's impressive score of 152 (containing five strikes) in the first of two frames proving to be the evening's overall highest score.
That, however, was countered by some low scoring from the rest of the team, and with earlier technical problems including a forced change of lane and the loss of several rounds of scoring in the second frame, it came as something of a surprise to the team to learn that they'd claimed the title when the scores were announced.
As ever, the key theme of the event is to bring local businesses together in a social surrounding, and this year's contest certainly succeeded once again with ten local companies represented in the contest.
Pushing the eventual winners for the title was a combined Thomas Cole Solutions and Spring Board Events team, which finished second, whilst the Club Chairman's team, made up of bowlers from Inspire Business Training, Swiftkleen and Euxton Lock Services & Signs came in third.

The BusinessGiftUK.com team will be aiming for glory tonight in the Central Lancashire Business Club Bowling Night at tenpin in Preston.
Success has been forthcoming in recent years as we won the competition in 2005 and 2006, before a runners-up spot in 2008 and third place finishes in 2007 and 2009.
Our main threat on the night is expected to come from last year's winners, web developers Thomas Cole Solutions, who are said to be fielding two teams following their recent expansion.
